Carriage House Transformation

Cathedral Hill, Saint Paul

Just five short years after the American Civil War, Stone Masons carefully crafted this one of a kind Carriage House. The narrow cobblestone approach and steep grade made turning horse drawn carriages nearly impossible. The solution was to build a wood and metal turnstile in the center of the structure that could easily spin a carriage around for its return up to Summit Avenue. 100 years later, this unique Carriage House was converted into a residence. It was enjoyed for decades but eventually fell into disrepair. We were thrilled to be given the job of bringing this unique home back to life. We hope you enjoy what we’ve done. Photos coming soon…
