Modern Cottage Remodel in Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN

This large single story home in Blaine, MN had space to spare. The only problems were the walls dividing it. Our mission was simple, carrying it out was a little more difficult. We wanted to do three things; remove all of the dividing walls to open up the flow, bring in more natural light, and increase the amount of useable kitchen space. The first task was simple. A few hours of hacking and smashing and the walls were gone. Bringing in more natural light seemed simple too until we started drawing cabinetry and storage space. Through creative design and collaboration with the homeowners, we came up with a fun plan to provide more work/storage space in the kitchen without sacrificing the views or light. Here is the finished product!
